Today we dressed in Red to show how much we care for Devlynn and his family. Red is the color of Caring according to Character Counts! Tomorrow the students may be able to earn a day off from homework if 75% of them bring a $1 donation. Friday if the students want to wear a hat in school, they can for a $1 donation. I also encourage you to leave a blog for the Sasse family. Please leave kind words, word of support or inspiration and we will be sure to pass it along to them.

6th Grade Social Studies

The sixth graders finished their lesson one notes yesterday, and started their notes on lesson two. I was happy to see that they seem to see a difference in the way they used to take notes compared to the ones they just took. They also seemed to universally say that these new notes were better and easier to use.

5th Grade Social Studies

Today the 5th graders stared doing their research on their colony, they didn't like it at first, because we are not using the computers or the internet to do the research, they are using books and encyclopedias. It fun to see them actually use books, and read the info, instead of point and click.

6th Grade Social Studies

The sixth graders have read the first two lessons in Chapter 7 on Ancient Rome, last week (what there was of it) we started to learn how to break down a lesson and read for content as well as how to take good notes from it. Today we continue this process of how to get the information from what we read. This is a skill I hope will help them in the future!
